To Make Referrals: Residents are referred through contracted counties in California. We accept referrals Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please call our main number at 510-261-9191.

Who We Serve: Adult residents of contracted counties throughout California who require 24-hour medical, nursing and rehabilitative services. Our residents meet the following criteria:

They have Medi-Cal coverage

Ages 18 to 64
Office Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am. - 5:00 pm. On-call staff at the program are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
About the Program: At Garfield Neurobehavioral Center, we have a blend of medical and psychiatric expertise to strengthen our focus on whole person care. Our team includes a psychiatric/adult nurse practitioner, social worker, behavioral specialist, Director of Nursing, and physician who work together to address our residents鈥� medical and psychological issues. Every staff member is trained in behavioral de-escalation practices from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) to maintain a safe environment.
Garfield Neurobehavioral Center meets a unique need for our contracted counties. We accept conserved individuals who have difficult-to-manage behavior disorders for whom lower levels of care are not appropriate. We can fill the expertise gap between psychiatric and medical settings.
